As a Hybrid Infrastructure & BCDR Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting business continuity and disaster recovery solutions across a wide range of customer environments. This role is heavily focused on Backup, Disaster Recovery, Infrastructure Resilience, and Hybrid Cloud technologies, with Veeam (VMCE-level expertise preferred) forming a core technical competency.
We are looking for someone with strong practical experience across on-premises virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V and VMware), hybrid infrastructure environments, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
You will work across multiple customer environments, participating in both SLA driven support services and project based engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication environments.
- Design and implement Backup, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity solutions for customer environments
- Perform backup validation testing and disaster recovery simulations
- Configure and manage immutable backups, replication, offsite retention, and ransomware recovery strategies
- Assist customers with DR planning, RPO/RTO alignment, and resilience assessments
- Troubleshoot backup failures, replication issues, and recovery operations across hybrid environments
- Assist with implementation and support of Veeam Data Cloud solutions and cloud based backup services
- Support backup and recovery for:
- VMware
- Hyper-V
- Physical servers
- NAS workloads
- Cloud-hosted infrastructure
Infrastructure & Virtualisation
- Manage and support Hyper-V and VMware virtualised environments across multiple customer environments
- Administer Windows Server infrastructure including:
- Active Directory
- DNS
- DHCP
- Group Policy
- File Services
- Participate in infrastructure modernisation and migration projects
- Support Azure and/or AWS infrastructure environments
- Configure and maintain hybrid connectivity solutions including VPNs and site-to-site integrations
- Assist with infrastructure failover, recovery testing, and DR readiness activities
Operations & Customer Engagement
- Act as a high-tier escalation point for infrastructure and DR-related incidents
- Support both managed services customers and once-off project engagements
- Participate in infrastructure discovery workshops and resilience assessments
- Assist with pre-sales scoping, technical discovery, and solution design
- Produce technical documentation, DR runbooks, and customer reports
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve customer resilience, backup posture, and operational maturity
- Work collaboratively with internal technical and account management teams to deliver customer outcomes

- Matric (Senior Certificate)
- VMCE certification preferred
- Microsoft Azure certifications advantageous
- VMware and/or AWS certifications advantageous
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in:
- Infrastructure support
- Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Virtualisation platforms
- Hybrid cloud infrastructure
- MSP or multi customer support environments
